Staind takes No. 1 album out for a spin
Staind , armed with material from its chart-topping album "14 Shades of Grey," continues to plot more dates for its already-in-progress tour.
The group's itinerary currently extends into early August, and includes headlining stops and numerous radio-festival performances. More dates will surface in the coming weeks, according to the band's website.
Staind is also due to open for fellow Boston-based rock quintet Godsmack in New Mexico on June 11.
Released on May 20, "14 Shades of Grey" sold about 221,000 copies during its first week in stores, enough to debut in the top slot on the Billboard 200 album chart. Meanwhile, the album's first single, "Price to Play," has made its way into the Top 10 on Billboard's Modern Rock and Mainstream Rock charts.
The "Price to Play" music video is streaming at Staind's website.
Staind broke through with its 2001 album "Break the Cycle," which is certified quadruple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. That album features the runaway hit "It's Been Awhile."
