Kenny Rogers maps tour plans into December

Country legend Kenny Rogers is poised to spend much of 2003 on a tour that will launch his new studio album, "Back to the Well."
Rogers has plotted a fairly busy summer schedule, and subsequent dates are scattered into December. His itinerary includes several multi-night stands in cities such as Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Atlantic City.
"Back to the Well" is due out some time in August, though no specific release date is set, according to Dreamcatcher Entertainment. The album features Rogers' latest single, "I'm Missing You," which made its radio premiere last month. The song, written by Steve Wariner and Billy Kirsch, "expresses the feelings of a young soldier while away from home in a foreign land," according to a press release. Knoxville, Tenn., country-radio station WIVK recently dubbed the track "the official song for our troops and their families."
Though it surfaced in the midst of the war in Iraq, Wariner and Kirsch originally wrote "I'm Missing You" for the 2002 Mel Gibson film "We Were Soldiers," but the cut never made it onto the film's soundtrack.
