Hall and Oates stretch tour plans into August
Daryl Hall and John Oates have fortified their North American summer tour with a series of August dates, many of which will feature special guest Kenny Loggins .
Hall and Oates' summer outing continues their support of their recently released album "Do It for Love."
The summer leg of the tour kicks off in late June, and comes on the heels of the pair's April, May and early June dates in Europe and Japan.
Kenny Loggins--the subject last year of the 35-song, 2-CD retrospective "The Essential Kenny Loggins"--joins the bill from Aug. 19-30.
Released in February, "Do It for Love"--most of which was produced by Hall and longtime bassist T Bone Wolk--is Hall and Oates' first new studio effort since 1997's "Marigold Sky." The set features the radio hits "Forever for You" and the title track, as well as the new single "Man on a Mission."
Streaming versions of "Forever for You" and the album's title track are posted at Hall and Oates' official website, as is the album's complete track listing.
Earlier this year, Hall and Oates kicked off the new season of A&E's "Live By Request" with a two-hour appearance.
Hall and Oates are best known for their string of late-'70s and early-'80s hits, which include "Sara Smile," "Kiss on My List," "You Make My Dreams," "Private Eyes," "I Can't Go for That (No Can Do)" and "Maneater."
Though their commercial popularity has waned since their '70s- and '80s-era heyday, Hall and Oates still boast a dedicated fan base, as evidenced by a recent paid advertisement that a group of fans ran in a February issue of Billboard magazine. A picture of the ad--which thanked Hall and Oates for "30 soulful years"--is posted at the Hall and Oates website.
