Poison, Vince Neil, Skid Row pump up tour schedule

Poison , Vince Neil and Skid Row will be spending a lot of time together this summer, judging by the '80s-metal alumni's expanded tour itinerary.

The triple-bill outing--which kicks off in late May--has grown to more than 40 cities, with a nearly non-stop string of dates that stretches into early August.

The run marks the fifth consecutive summer that Poison has assembled a multi-act roster with some of its '80s-era peers; in 1999, the band hit the road with Ratt, Great White and L.A. Guns; 2000's lineup teamed the group with Cinderella, Dokken and Slaughter; 2001's bill included Warrant, Quiet Riot and Enuff Z'Nuff; and last summer, the group embarked on a run with Winger, Cinderella and Faster Pussycat.

A few days before kicking off the summer road trip, Poison frontman Bret Michaels delivers his first solo album. Titled "Songs of Life," the set hits shelves on May 20. A video for the album's first single, "Raine," is due to surface in early April, according to Michaels' website.

Poison's most recent release is last May's "Hollyweird." The group supported the set with a 2002 summer tour that also featured Faster Pussycat, Cinderella and Winger.

Skid Row delivers a new album titled "Thickskin" and a DVD titled "Under the Skin: The Making of Thickskin" on April 30, according to the band's publicist. The group's lineup features founding members Rachel Bolan (bass), Dave "Snake" Sabo (guitar) and Scotti Hill (guitar), along with new drummer Phil Varone and singer Johnny Solinger, who has replaced the band's well-known original frontman, Sebastian Bach.

Motley Crue frontman Neil hasn't released a new solo set since 1995's "Carved in Stone." The singer recently appeared in a WB Television reality series titled "The Surreal Life," in which he shared a house with Emmanuel Lewis, M.C. Hammer, Corey Feldman and others.

During his appearance on "The Howard Stern Show" on Thursday (4/24), Neil pinned the blame for Motley Crue's latest break-up to bassist Nikki Sixx. Neil also hinted that he was planning to slap Sixx with a breach-of-contract lawsuit for failing to carry out plans that Motley Crue had made prior to its demise.
