Def Leppard tacks on summer tour dates
Def Leppard , which is in the midst of a spring U.S. tour, will remain on U.S. soil well into the summer as it continues to support last year's "X."
Tickets for a number of the spring and summer shows are on sale now, while pre-sales and general on-sales for others are scheduled to begin in the coming days. Detailed on-sale information is posted at the band's official website.
Def Leppard's aptly titled tenth album, "X," debuted at No. 11 on the Billboard 200 album chart following its release last July. The set features the single "Now."
Earlier this month, the British quintet released a follow-up single in Europe titled "Long Long Way to Go." The group had originally planned to release the track in February, but those plans were pushed back abroad, and were scrapped altogether in North America, according to information posted at the band's site.
"[T]he U.S. division of the record label has finally decided not to release the single in North America at all--neither for radio, nor commercially."
Detailed information about the CD and DVD versions of the single--which contain bonus tracks and the "Long Long Way to Go" music video--is posted at the band's website. The site also contains information that will assist stateside fans in purchasing a copy.
Though Def Leppard's commercial appeal in the U.S. has steadily softened over the past decade--particularly compared to its '80s and early-'90s heyday, when it churned out multi-platinum sets such as "Pyromania," "Hysteria" and "Adrenalize"--the band is still a strong concert draw.
