Bon Jovi returns to the U.S. this summer
Stateside Bon Jovi fans who missed the group during its recently completed spring tour--or who just want to catch the show again--will get a chance during the group's summer outing.
After heading to Europe for most of May and June, Jon Bon Jovi and company will kick off a new round of U.S. dates on July 11. Stops are set primarily at amphitheaters and stadiums, and the group's itinerary currently stretches into early August. One Canadian stop is also planned.
Tickets for most of the new dates are on sale now.
The Goo Goo Dolls will open from July 11-August 4; Sheryl Crow will open on July 12; and both artists will open Bon Jovi 's stadium shows in Detroit, Philadelphia and the Boston area, according to Island Records.
Bon Jovi hasn't announced who will open its Aug. 7 and 8 performances at Giants Stadium in New York.
Fans who already caught the group during its spring U.S. run can look forward to seeing a new stage set when the band returns this summer. According to the group's official website, the three giant satellite dishes that housed projection screens have been forced into retirement. Instead, the set will feature "massive LED screens which move together, split apart and morph into various different configurations throughout the show."
The new set will get road tested during the group's May and June European outing.
Bon Jovi continues to tour behind last fall's "Bounce," which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 album chart. It marks the highest chart debut in Bon Jovi's history.
Earlier this year, the "Bounce" cut "Everyday" earned a GRAMMY® nomination in the Best Pop Performance By a Duo or Group with Vocal category.
