Self-described "choral symphonic pop band" the Polyphonic Spree has added a second leg to its inaugural U.S. tour, a move that keeps the 23-member group on the road through mid June.

The band--which rose from the ashes of Tripping Daisy [ tickets ] and is led by former Tripping Daisy frontman Tim DeLaughter--is known for performing clad in flowing white robes. Augmenting vocalist DeLaughter is a guitarist, a bassist, two percussionists, keyboardists, woodwind and strings specialists, brass players and a nine-member chorus.

The Dallas-based group, which opened its outing earlier this month, is scheduled to appear on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" April 29.

The Polyphonic Spree [ tickets ]'s first album, "The Beginning Stages ... ," was released last June. A new album is tentatively scheduled to hit stores at the end of the year; the group returns to the studio in May with producer Eric Drew Feldman (Frank Black and the Catholics, Sparklehorse).

Tripping Daisy split after guitarist Wes Berggren died of drug-related causes in 1999. The group's former bassist, Mark Pirro, is among the Polyphonic Spree's members.
