Sheryl Crow stays busy with spring and summer shows
One year after releasing her latest album, Sheryl Crow is stringing together a loosely knit series of concert dates that begin later this month and extend into August.
The singer-songwriter's schedule includes only a smattering of headlining dates and festival performances.
Among the stops is the June 28 Dale Earnhardt Tribute Concert at the Daytona International Speedway in Florida. Other acts appearing at that show include Alabama, Brooks & Dunn, Kenny Chesney, Hootie and the Blowfish, and the Goo Goo Dolls.
Proceeds from the show will benefit the Dale Earnhardt Foundation, whose mission is to "carry on Dale's name and good works through charitable causes he supported during his lifetime [such as] children's and educational areas, as well as wildlife preservation," according to a press release.
Other stops include July performances in Detroit and Philadelphia, at which Crow will share the stage with Bon Jovi and the Goo Goo Dolls.
More dates are likely; according to Crow's website, fans should "maybe look out for Sheryl in places she has not been for a while anytime between June 28th and July 27th."
Crow's fourth album, "C'mon, C'mon," was released last April. Stevie Nicks, Don Henley, Lenny Kravitz, Emmylou Harris and Dixie Chicks' Natalie Maines are among the guests who contribute to the CD, which marked Crow's first in nearly four years.
In February, Crow won a Best Female Rock Vocal Performance GRAMMY® for the "C'mon, C'mon" track "Steve McQueen."
