KISS and Aerosmith join forces for summer tour
The full itinerary for the outing was not available at press time, though liveDaily was able to confirm two shows--Aug. 13 in Cincinnati and Sept. 27 in the St. Louis area.
Members of Aerosmith's fan club, Aero Force One, will have a crack at ticket pre-sales, as well special concert and travel packages, according to the club's website. A one-year membership to the club costs $35.
Aerosmith spent much of 2001 and 2002 on the road in support of 2001's "Just Push Play." The group is expected to release a "blues type album" some time this year, according to Aero Force One.
In March of 2000, the original KISS lineup launched what it called its "Farewell Tour." The group has toured on and off ever since.
By early 2002, KISS founders Paul Stanley (vocals, guitar) and Gene Simmons (vocals, bass) had replaced original members Peter Criss (drums, vocals) and Ace Frehley (guitar, vocals) with musicians who wore Criss's and Frehley's costumes and make-up. Criss has since rejoined the group, while guitarist Tommy Thayer continues to portray Frehley's spaceman character.
Memphis quintet Saliva is touring behind its second major-label release, last November's "Back Into Your System."
