The Eagles fortify tour schedule with additional dates
The Eagles ' "Farewell I" tour, which gets underway in early May, now stretches into late July and features multi-night stands in several cities.
Laredo, Texas; Tallahassee, Fla.; Oklahoma City; Buffalo, N.Y.; Albany, N.Y.; Atlantic City, N.J.; Manchester, N.H., are the most recent additions to the itinerary.
During the tour, the Eagles--Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit--will be performing music from throughout their 30-year career. A source indicates that the tour has been dubbed the "Farewell I" tour in jest, and that the title instead alludes to the likelihood of subsequent outings.
Last summer, the Eagles executed a 30-city U.S. tour that ran from May through late July. The handful of dates released thus far for the "Farewell I" tour indicates a similar timetable.
In March of last year, singer-drummer Don Henley said that the Eagles were working on their first collection of new material since 1979's "The Long Run." A spokesperson for the group said that the group still hasn't finished the album.
Over the course of their three-decade career, the Eagles have sold more than 120 million albums worldwide, and have garnered four No. 1 U.S. singles and four Grammy Awards, according to the group's publicist. Their hits compilation, "Greatest Hits 1971-1975," which has sold over 27 million copies, is the top-selling album of all time in the U.S.
The group was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.
