Chicago lines up lengthy tour to back reissued albums

Veteran soft-rock outfit Chicago , which last year celebrated its 35th anniversary, continues to forge ahead with a spring/summer tour that supports Rhino Records' series of reissued albums from the group's back-catalog.

The group has mapped out an ambitious itinerary that begins in late May, and will keep the band on the road until at least late September. Tickets for a number of shows are on sale now. The group's official fan club is also fielding orders from its members.

Last year, to commemorate Chicago's 35th anniversary, Rhino Records released "The Very Best of Chicago: Only the Beginning." The two-disc set houses 39 singles spanning the group's career. A complete track listing is posted at Rhino's website.

Also last year, Rhino began issuing remastered, deluxe editions of the group's entire back-catalog. Each reissued set includes a 20-page booklet featuring the album's lyrics and detailed liner notes from Rolling Stone magazine's David Wild.

On April 22, Rhino will release its deluxe versions of "Hot Streets," "Chicago XIII" and "Chicago XIV," according to Chicago's website.

Chicago released its debut album in 1969, which spawned the hits "Does Anybody Know What Time It Is?," "Beginnings," "Questions 67 and 68" and a cover of Steve Winwood's "I'm a Man."

Over the course of its recording career, Chicago has scored 20 Top 10 singles, 12 Top 10 albums--five of which hit No. 1--and has sold more than 120 million records, according to the band's website.
