Aimee Mann makes spring and summer tour plans

Singer-songwriter Aimee Mann is stringing together tour dates for the coming months as she continues to support last year's "Lost in Space."

The Boston-based musician, who earlier this year spent three weeks touring U.S. clubs, will be performing at a number of spring and summer festivals, and has so far scheduled all of her stops at outdoor venues.

Released last August, "Lost in Space" is Mann's fourth solo collection, and her second on her own Superego Records label. Mann got some help with the set from husband Michael Penn, producer-musician John Brion and singer-songwriter Jason Falkner.

The album can be heard in its entirety at Mann's website.

"Lost in Space" is the follow-up to 2000's "Bachelor No. 2," a critical success that got a running start thanks to Mann's acclaimed work on the 1999 "Magnolia" soundtrack. That album spawned Mann's Oscar-nominated track "Save Me."

After a number of record company shake-ups left her shuffling from one label to another, Mann decided to go the do-it-yourself route, starting with "Bachelor No. 2." Even without major label support, "Lost in Space" managed to enter the Billboard 200 chart at No. 35.

Mann gained fame in the '80s during her stint as lead singer of 'Til Tuesday, a group best known for its hit "Voices Carry."
