Celine Dion Planning Semi-Retirement After Las Vegas Show

Celine Dion 's final concert before a self-imposed sabbatical from touring will reportedly take place at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas on Jan. 1, 2000, according to a member of her management team.

Dion's last show was assumed to be a long-planned New Year's Eve performance at Montreal's Molson Centre, but Barry Garber, a member of Dion's management team, spoke of the Las Vegas finale in a story published in the Montreal Gazette on Monday (9/6).

In the same story, Garber confirmed rumors that he's breaking from Dion's team, and said he has formed his own artist management company called Barry Garber International Management Consultants. Garber called the split amicable, saying that he couldn't see himself biding his time, waiting for Dion to hit the road again. Dion's management/production company is run by her husband, Rene Angelil, and Garber helped to book and produce Dion's concerts for the last 10 years.

Dion is currently playing a series of sold out shows at Canadian arenas with opener Corey Hart. After that, she heads to the U.S. to make up some dates she cancelled earlier this year to be with Angelil during his recovery from skin cancer.

After her New Year's performance, Dion is expected to take at least two or three years off from touring, reportedly to spend more time with Angelil and to start a family.
