Kid Rock joins Tim McGraw at post-concert club gig

Country star Tim McGraw , after playing a sold out Friday night (3/21) gig for about 17,000 fans at the Palace of Auburn Hills near Detroit, played a two-hour concert at the Mill Street club in Pontiac, Mich.

The club gig, which benefited the local Red Cross, was the second so-called "Bread & Water" show of McGraw's current tour. McGraw played his first Bread & Water charity shows during the George Strait Country Music Festival in 1999.

According to his publicist, fans paid a $20 cover charge to enter the club. Some paid an additional $10 for Bread & Water T-shirts.

According to a press release, the Bread & Water shows "have allowed McGraw to relive his days spent pre-record deal in the honky tonks where performing cover tunes, both rock and country, were always a part of the gigs."

McGraw's primary set list on Friday consisted of cover songs, but he played some of his own songs by request in exchange for additional $100 donations.

Kid Rock --who joined McGraw on stage at the Auburn Hills show during a rendition of the David Allan Coe song "The Ride"--also turned up at the club with three members of his Twisted Brown Trucker band. They joined McGraw and his band, the Dancehall Doctors, on a series of songs including "Jumping Jack Flash", "Fortune Son," "Midnight Rider" and "Cowboy."

McGraw resumes his One Band Show tour this week with shows in Cincinnati, Louisville, Cleveland, Pittsburgh and State College, Pa.
