Godsmack returns with new album and tour
Boston rock outfit Godsmack is revving its engines for a spring tour that follows the early-April release of its new album, "Faceless."
Only a handful of dates have been scheduled thus far, beginning with a trio of late-April Florida performances. More shows will be added soon.
Due for release on April 8, "Faceless" is the follow-up to Godsmack's 2000 set "Awake." The group will help launch the new album with a release-day appearance on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno."
In anticipation of its forthcoming album cycle, the band has launched a new fan club dubbed the Voodoo Tribe. Fans who pay $35 for a premium-level membership are entitled to a number of benefits, including access to ticket pre-sales for the upcoming tour and a shot at backstage events.
One such members-only pre-sale kicks off at 10 a.m. Eastern Time on Friday (3/21), when the group releases tickets to its May 22 "special homecoming concert" in the Boston area, according to the fan club's website. The public on-sale follows on Saturday (3/22) at 10 a.m. Eastern Time.
