Dave Matthews Band to spend the summer on the road

Dave Matthews Band has mapped out an ambitious summer touring schedule that features more than 50 performances throughout the U.S. and Canada.

The run kicks of in mid June, and dates are scheduled through late September. Tickets for most shows go on sale to the general public on March 29, while members of the group's official fan club, Warehouse, can begin placing orders on Thursday (3/6). More information is posted at the band's website.

DMB's most recent release is last November's two-disc set "Live at Folsom Field," which captures the band's July 2001 performance in Boulder, Colo. The band simultaneously released a video version of the performance on VHS and DVD.

The group's latest studio effort is last year's "Busted Stuff."

Prior to his summer tour, band namesake Dave Matthews spends a few weeks in March and April on an acoustic outing with guitarist Tim Reynolds . The two recently spent a week recording a studio album, according to an interview Reynolds gave to Boulder, Colo.'s Daily Camera.

"It's going to be really, really good," he said. "I don't want to let the cat out of the bag, but I can tell you, it's gonna kick (butt). People will be surprised to hear Dave in a fresh new way."

No other details about the album have been revealed.
