Eminem, Sheryl Crow, 'NSYNC, others added to GRAMMY roster
The list of acts performing at this month's GRAMMY® Awards ceremony continues to grow with the addition of rap superstar Eminem , Sheryl Crow , Lenny Kravitz, 'NSync and Elvis Costello.
Crow and Kravitz are scheduled to perform together, according to organizers, while Costello will join No Doubt guitarist Tony Kanal, and Bruce Springsteen and E Street Band-guitarist Steve Van Zandt to perform a tribute to late Clash founder Joe Strummer, who died of a heart attack in December.
'NSync will be on hand to perform during a special presentation to honor the Bee Gees with the Grammy Legend Award. Bee Gees member Maurice Gibb died in January.
The new batch of artists joins a lineup that already features Ashanti, Vanessa Carlton, Coldplay with members of the New York Philharmonic, the Dixie Chicks, Faith Hill, Norah Jones, Avril Lavigne, Yo-Yo Ma, John Mayer, Nelly featuring Kelly Rowland, No Doubt, Springsteen and the E Street Band, and James Taylor.
Eminem --who is arguably the most visible artist in the music industry these days--has a shot at doubling his existing collection of five GRAMMYs; the Detroit rapper is one of eight artists nominated in five of this year's categories. Eminem's nods include Album of the Year and Best Rap Album, both for last year's "The Eminem Show."
Crow, an eight-time GRAMMY winner, is also up for five trophies this year, including Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and Best Rock Album for last year's "C'mon C'mon."
The GRAMMY Awards take place on Feb. 23 at New York City's Madison Square Garden and will be broadcast on CBS. Coverage will also be aired on the Westwood One radio network and online at GRAMMY.com.
