Kelly Osbourne calls off U.K. appearance due to terror fears

Kelly Osbourne called off a planned appearance on Thursday's (2/13) NME awards because she fears that terrorists might attack London, according to a spokesperson.

"Kelly's parents were in New York on September 11 when the Twin Towers came down so you can imagine how they feel," Osbourne's U.K. publicist said in a statement. "The decision wasn't taken lightly and Kelly has thought long and hard about it."

"She is upset that she can't come to Britain because she was really looking forward to it. But as well as herself and her parents, she also has a whole crew and band to think of and she has decided not to take the risk."

According to British press reports, Osbourne--the daughter of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne --became nervous after seeing news coverage of tanks and soldiers this week at London's Heathrow Airport.

Osbourne, who was vaulted into stardom thanks to her family's reality-TV series, was to perform her single "Shut Up" at the awards ceremony, according to NME.
