Avril Lavigne reveals spring tour plans
GRAMMY® nominee Avril Lavigne has mapped out the dates for her first headlining outing, which gets underway this spring.
The teen musician is riding the success of her debut album, "Let Go," which she released last June. The album had sold 4.1 million copies by the end of 2002, making it the third best-selling album of the year, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
The album spent 29 of its first 32 weeks in the top 10 on the Billboard 200 album chart, and sold more than 100,000 copies per week for 25 of those 32 weeks, according to an Arista Records press release.
Earlier this month, Lavigne racked up five GRAMMY nominations, including Best New Artist, Song of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance (both for her hit single "Complicated"), Best Pop Vocal Album ("Let Go") and Best Female Rock Vocal Performance (for her second single, "Sk8er Boi").
The GRAMMY Awards will air live on CBS-TV on February 23.
