This year's GRAMMY^® nominees include eight artists--Eminem [ tickets ], Bruce Springsteen, Norah Jones, Avril Lavigne, Nelly [ tickets ], Ashanti [ tickets ], Sheryl Crow [ tickets ] and Raphael Saadiq--who are vying for five awards apiece.

Up for Album of the Year are the Dixie Chicks' "Home," Eminem's "The Eminem Show," Jones' "Come Away with Me," Nelly's "Nellyville" and Bruce Springsteen's "The Rising." The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences announced the nominees on Tuesday (1/7/2003).

Record of the Year nominees include "Without Me" by Eminem, "A Thousand Miles" by Vanessa Carlton "Don't Know Why" by Jones, "Dilemma" by Nelly featuring Kelly Rowland and "How You Remind Me" by Nickelback.

Competing in the Song of the Year category--which is presented to the songwriter--are "Without Me," Springsteen's "The Rising," Lavigne's "Complicated" (which she wrote with production/writing team The Matrix), "Don't Know Why" (written by Jesse Harris) and Alan Jackson's "Where Were You (When The World Stopped Turning)."

Ashanti, Michelle Branch, Jones, Lavigne and John Mayer are nominated in the Best New Artist category.

The winners will be announced Feb. 23 in New York at a ceremony to be broadcast live by CBS-TV from Madison Square Garden.
