Bad Religion tops the Vans Warped Tour bill
Veteran punk band Bad Religion will headline the 2002 edition of the annual Vans Warped Tour . The 48-date trek begins June 21 in Nampa, ID. Mighty Mighty Bosstones, NOFX, Reel Big Fish and Flogging Molly are among the other bands on the bill.
In addition to music, Vans Warped Tour offers a midway of extreme sports and games. New this year is the Pirate Zone, a kind of water-park with a water slide and a dunk tank and the Warped Are They Now museum, which features memorabilia from past tours.
The traveling punk festival is expected to get further competition this year. In addition to more installments of Moby's rap- and electronica-laced Area package tour and the metal-themed Ozzfest, it is rumored that Lollapalooza, the '90s-era traveling alt-rock festival, is returning to the road.
