Ludacris rolls out dates to back 'Word of Mouf'
Riding the success of his current Top 10 album "Word of Mouf," rapper Ludacris will take to the road next week for a tour of U.S. clubs and theaters.
The outing kicks off on Wednesday (2/13) in Orlando, and dates are lined up through early March. Details appear in the itinerary below. Additional dates are expected.
On Thursday night (2/7), Ludacris will perform at Philadelphia's Electric Factory as part of a special event dubbed Will Smith & Friends. Hosted by actor and comedian Jamie Foxx and featuring actor Will Smith, the event will also include appearances from DJ Biz Markie and DJ Jazzy Jeff. Additional information is available at the venue's official website.
Ludacris' itinerary includes a Feb. 28 Los Angeles-area stop for a concert that will also feature performances by fellow rappers Busta Rhymes and show-opener Bubba Sparxxx.
"Word of Mouf" (Def Jam), Ludacris' second major-label release, surfaced last November. The album is currently the fourth best-selling release in the U.S., according to Billboard, and has sold about 1.6 million copies to date, according to industry sources.
Last month, Ludacris' October 2000 release, "Back for the First Time," was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Rap Album category, while his song "Area Codes" got a nod in the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. The track first appeared on last summer's "Rush Hour 2" soundtrack, and is also included on "Word of Mouf."
The Grammy Awards are scheduled to take place in Los Angeles on Feb. 27.
