Phil Lesh [ tickets ] and Friends, the hard-touring group led by the former Grateful Dead bassist, is lining up a spring tour of the western U.S. The tour opens with a two-night stand in San Francisco in late March.

Tickets for most shows go on sale via the Grateful Dead's mail-order service on Wednesday (2/1); general on-sales have not been announced.

The oft-changing band currently features Lesh, John Molo (drums), Warren Haynes (guitar, vocals), Jimmy Herring (guitar) and Rob Barraco (keyboards).

Meanwhile, Lesh's official website reports that that the 7th Annual Gathering of the Vibes event, featuring Lesh & Friends, will take place at the Indian Lookout Country Club in Mariaville, N.Y., July 4-7. The Gathering of the Vibes website is scheduled to be relaunched on Monday (2/4) with more information, including ticketing details.
