Alan Jackson takes his No. 1 album to U.S. arenas
update: Alan Jackson will hit the road early next month for a round of U.S. dates behind "Drive." The album, which landed in stores last week, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart.
Jackson currently has February dates scheduled throughout the South and the Midwest, and a handful of March stops in the Northeast. Tickets for all are on sale now.
Jackson's mid-February Texas stops will find him performing at both the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo (2/12-13) and the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, at the latter of which he is one of a number of artists filling slots on the multi-day RodeoHouston concert series.
During its first week in stores, "Drive" (Arista) sold about 423,000 copies, thanks in part to Jackson's current No. 1 hit, "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)." The song, which was written in response to the events of Sept. 11, is Jackson's fastest-charting single ever.
