Kid Rock unveils initial U.S. tour plans
Kid Rock has revealed plans to kick off a North American tour next month. The outing is scheduled to run into May, and will be followed by a summer road trip.
Rock's preliminary itinerary comprises stops in 30 U.S. cities, venues for most of which have been locked in. Most dates have not yet been confirmed, but will be announced shortly, according to Rock's label publicist. Tickets are expected to be priced at less than $30.
"Cocky" (Lava/Atlantic), the follow up to Rock's 2000 double-platinum "History of Rock," was released in November and debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 album chart. Now in its ninth week out, the album has sold almost 1 million copies, according to industry sources.
The second single from "Cocky," titled "Lonely Road of Faith," recently began airing on rock radio, and MTV has added to its playlist the song's companion music video, which features footage from Kid Rock's recent performance for U.S. troops stationed at Rammstein Air Base in Germany. "Lonely Road of Faith" can be heard in its entirety at Rock's official website.
"Forever," the first single from "Cocky," peaked at No. 18 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.
Last year, Rock's 1998 breakthrough album, "Devil Without a Cause," achieved diamond status, signifying shipment of 10 million copies in the U.S. The album features the hits "Bawitdaba" and "Cowboy."
