Sevendust fills itinerary, adds opening acts

Sevendust , which will kick off the next leg of its tour later this month, has added a slew of dates to that run, which will now keep the group on the road through the end of February. The band has also filled the outing's support slots with Gravity Kills and Flaw.

"Animosity" (TVT), Sevendust's third album, hit stores in mid-November and has sold about 250,000 copies to date, according to industry sources. The album, which for the past two weeks sat at No. 121 on the Billboard 200 album chart, takes a sizeable leap on this week's chart to No. 79.

The music video for "Praise," the first single from "Animosity," can be viewed at Sevendust's official website. The site also features streaming audio samples of all 12 "Animosity" tracks, and full-length, downloadable versions of both "Praise" and "Live Again."

Sevendust, along with TVT Records and musical-equipment manufacturer Peavey, is currently holding a contest in which the group is asking fans to submit an audio sample of their own band playing "Live Again." The TVT A&R rep who signed Sevendust will listen to the winning entry, which will also be posted on both Sevendust's website and Peavey's website. The winning entrant will also receive a number of Peavey musical products and a signed Sevendust CD and photo.

Gravity Kills is set to release "Superstarved," its first album for Sanctuary Records, on March 19. "One Thing," the album's first single, will hit radio stations on Jan. 28, according to a band press release.

Flaw's debut album, "Through the Eyes" (Universal), was released last October and features the group's current single, "Payback." A second single titled "Whole" will surface next month, and the album's track "Only the Strong" will appear on the March 26 soundtrack for the forthcoming film "The Scorpion King," according to the group's publicist.
