Craig David locks down venues for inaugural U.S. tour
After announcing earlier this month the initial itinerary for his first U.S. headlining tour, British soul sensation Craig David has now confirmed the venues for the entire outing. The tour begins in late January.
David is touring behind his debut album, "Born to Do It" (Atlantic), which was released in the U.K. last year and in the U.S. last July. The gold-certified release debuted at No. 11 on the Billboard 200 album chart and has sold more than 600,000 copies in the U.S., according to industry sources.
"Born to Do It" features the Billboard Top 40 hits "7 Days" and "Fill Me In," both of which reached No. 1 on the U.K. singles chart. The music video for "7 Days" is streamed at David's official website. Audio samples of all 13 "Born to Do It" tracks are also available at the site.
"Born to Do It" has sold about 1.5 million copies in the U.K. and about 4 million copies worldwide, according to David's official website.
Last year, David won the awards for Best R&B Act, Best U.K. Single ("Fill Me In") and Best Newcomer at the U.K.'s sixth annual Music of Black Origin (MOBO) awards ceremony.
