Injury forces Blink-182 to scrap Euro outing again
Blink-182's plans to tour Europe have again been put on hold, this time due to singer-guitarist Tom DeLonge's back injury. The musician has a herniated disc in his back, according to a band press release.
The tour was previously postponed following the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
"Recently, I consulted a specialist and he informed me that I need to be off my feet and seeking treatment," DeLonge said in a statement. "My condition may require surgery and I will be reevaluated in eight weeks. At that time, we'll be able to make plans for the future."
Blink-182 spent much of this past year on tour supporting its most recent release, "Take Off Your Pants and Jacket" (MCA), which in June debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart.
Earlier this month, DeLonge and bandmates Mark Hoppus (bass) and Travis Barker (drums) finished playing a round of U.S. holiday radio festivals.
