Josh Groban turns to television to promote self-titled debut

Following his role on Fox-TV's "Ally McBeal," 20-year-old singer Josh Groban has scheduled more television appearances to push his self-titled debut album.

On Monday's (12/10) episode of "Ally McBeal," he performed "To Where You Are," the first single from his Warner Bros./143 debut. He will sing the song on CNN's "Larry King Live” on Wednesday (12/12), and will perform and be interviewed during NBC-TV's "The Today Show" on Jan. 1. He will also be interviewed, and will sing "You're Still You,” during NBC's "Brian Boitano's Skating Spectacular" on Jan. 1.

He also appears in "Charlotte Church PBS Pledge Special," to air several times on the network this month.

Groban blends pop sensibilities with classical singing techniques. In 1999, he was recruited to sub for Andrea Bocelli during rehearsals for the song "The Prayer" with Celine Dion at the Grammy awards. He first appeared on "Ally McBeal" earlier this year when he sang "You're Still You" at his character’s high school prom. According to his website, Fox received more than 8,000 pieces of mail about him, prompting the network to ask him to return.

His album features Church, the Corrs, Delerium's Rhys Fulber and violinist-singer Lili Haydn.
