Celine Dion will emerge from semi-retirement to release a new album in March.
Dion, who took a self-imposed sabbatical from touring in January 2000, has agreed to perform in 200 shows a year at a new theater to be constructed at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. The production starring Dion is scheduled to debut in March 2003.
Joey Ramone's posthumous solo album, "Don't Worry About Me," is due from Sanctuary Records on Feb. 18, RollingStone.com reported.
Ramone died of cancer on April 15.
Oasis (Feb. 6), the Who (Feb. 7-8), Paul Weller, Jimmy Page with Gary Moore, and Robert Plant and Strange Sensations (Feb. 9) will be among the artists to perform during a week of benefit shows at London's Royal Albert Hall next year. Proceeds will go to the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Lucinda Williams and Elvis Costello have taped the first episode of the CMT network's "Crossroads," to air on Jan. 13, according to Country.com.
The article describes the new series as "bringing together artists who come from diverse musical backgrounds. Hank Williams Jr. and rap-rock star Kid Rock will collaborate in mid-December in Nashville for a future episode."
The series is hosted by Stan Lynch, former drummer for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.
Phil Ramone will host and co-produce (with Norman Lear) "The Score," a weekly series that will "reveal the dynamic process of creating a musical score for film," according to a press release. The series will debut in March on the TRIO arts channel. "'The Score' pairs critically acclaimed directors Rob Reiner, Sydney Pollack, Taylor Hackford, Brett Ratner, and Ted Demme with their celebrated musical counterparts, composers Danny Elfman, James Newton-Howard, Marc Shaiman, Lalo Schifrin, David Grusin and Alan and Marilyn Bergman...."
A daughter, Audrey Caroline, was born to country music power-couple Faith Hill and Tim McGraw on Thursday (12/6).
