Aaron Carter prepares for Winter Party Tour
Teen pop singer Aaron Carter is lining up an arena jaunt, dubbed Winter Party Tour, slated to run through the early part of next year.
The singer, along with two other acts in his genre, Dream Street and Lindsay Pagano, will begin the tour on Jan. 25 in Jacksonville, Fla. The first batch of tickets go on sale on Saturday (12/8), and on-sales will continue throughout December and January.
This month, Carter is playing two shows: a benefit in Florida and a holiday radio gig in San Jose, Calif.
Aaron, the brother of Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter, is touring in support of his latest album, “Oh Aaron” (Jive), his second release in the United States. Like Backstreet Boys and ‘NSync, Aaron first found success in Europe. He piqued Americans’ interest in 2000 with the album “Aaron’s Party (Come Get It)” (Jive) and its title track.
"Oh Aaron" features two duets with his brothe--the title track and “Not Too Young, Not Too Old." The 13-year-old, who stands at 5-foot 10-inches, said he enjoyed recording with his older brother Nick.
"We have a good time," Carter said." "He came in and did his part. I came in and did my part. That was it. We never have any big fights or anything. We get along very well.”
Carter said that his older brother supports him and gives him advice on tackling problems that he had as a young performer.
“He taught me--when I’m really scared of the audience and there’s a lot of people there--to just pick out two or three [people] and visually get everybody else out of your sight,” he said.
However, he said his relationship with his sister Leslie, who joined him on his summer tour, is a bit rockier.
“She’s 15 and going through that time where she’s beating up everybody,” Carter said with a sigh.
Carter said he had a rough time on his summer tour because he injured his knee.
“I was singing one of my new songs and I fell off the stage in San Antonio,” he said. “It was the most embarrassing moment that I ever had. It was like a 7-foot drop and I landed smack on my knee, on the concrete, and fractured my knee.”
Carter has two previously unreleased tunes on the soundtrack to the animated movie “Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius” (Jive)-- “AC’s Alien Nation” and “Go Jimmy Go.”
Dream Street, who appears on USA Network’s “Go For It!” recently released “Oh Yeah,” the third single from its gold-certified CD self-titled debut (UEG/Edel Entertainment). Member Jesse McCartney was nominated for an Emmy earlier this year for his portrayal of Adam Chandler Jr. on ABC-TV’s “All My Children.”
Lindsay Pagano’s debut for Warner Bros., “Love and Faith and Inspiration,” will hit stores on Dec. 18. The record was produced by and features songs written by pop artist Jude Cole, who also worked with Lifehouse.
