Brad Paisley to spend much of 2002 on the road

Country singer Brad Paisley has extended his tour in support of his sophomore album, "Part II," to run deep into next summer.

The itinerary includes a three-night stand at Las Vegas' Hilton Theatre, and individual gigs at a slew of casinos. Details are listed below.

Paisley, who spent the summer on the George Strait Country Music Festival, recently released, "Wrapped Around," the latest single from "Part II" (Arista Nashville), which came out on May 29 and sits at No. 28 on the current Billboard Top Country Albums chart.

His first album, "Who Needs Pictures," brought to radio four hit singles: "Me Neither," "He Didn't Have to Be," "We Danced" and the title track.

"He Didn’t Have to Be," which Paisley co-wrote with his friend Kelley Lovelace, inspired the TBS network and Orly Adelson Productions to develop a film based on it. Paisley will act in the film in a supporting role and will serve as co-executive producer. Previously released and unreleased Paisley material will be featured in the movie. The title song, which landed at No. 1 on several charts in 1999, tells the story of a stepfather from a stepchild’s point of view. Paisley and Lovelace also wrote a book of the same name based on "He Didn't Have to Be."

Paisley's stable of awards from 2000 includes the CMA Horizon Award, ACM Top New Male Vocalist, TNN Country Weekly Music Awards' Discovery Award, Song and Video of the Year (for "He Didn't Have to Be"), R&R Readers' Poll's Best New Artist and Gavin Breakthrough Artist of the Year.
