Animated Backstreet Boys To Star In Web-Based Comic
Stan Lee Media, a company headed by the comic book legend, and Backstreet Boys will create an animated, Internet-based production chronicling the adventures of the boy group as super heroes. Lee is co-creating the project with the group's Nick Carter.
The set up: a spaceship crash-lands next to a stadium that is hosting a sold-out Backstreet Boys concert, and the Boys rescue a beautiful alien. The thankful alien gives the Boys an "enchanted amulet embedded with mystic crystals," which, when worn, gives each Boy a super power.
The Backstreet Project will debut with a collector's edition comic book to be sold at Backstreet Boys concerts starting on Feb. 19 and on the Internet. The animated series debuts on the Web this summer.
