Briefly: Dave Matthews Band cancels international dates
According to its official website, "Dave Matthews Band has decided to cancel the international tour dates previously planned for November and December. In light of recent global events, the band, their crew, and management all feel it important to be close to family and friends. At this time, no plans have been made to reschedule the canceled engagements ..."
The Associated Press reported, "Bob Dylan is writing a multi-volume autobiography, titled 'Chronicles,' the first installment of which is due out next year."
Snoop Dogg's planned Sunday (10/28) concert at the DeSoto Civic Center in Southaven, Miss. has been canceled due to slow ticket sales, the DeSoto Times reported. About 350 residents reportedly signed a petition saying that they would boycott the venue if the rapper performed there.
"All three original members of Concrete Blonde have re-formed and will release their next album, Group Therapy, on Los Angeles-based independent label Manifesto Records, with a U.S. release date on January 15, 2002," the label announced.
Def Jam Records told Sonicnet that "New York City officials denied DMX a permit to bring his Hoodstock tour to his hometown for a Monday or Tuesday show due to 'security reasons.'"
Hoodstock is a free, outdoor tour--promoting DMX's recently released "The Great Depression"--during which the rapper performs on a flatbed truck.
