Blues Traveler's itinerary grows
Blues Traveler has revealed a handful of new U.S. tour dates, including four stops in Hawaii just prior to Thanksgiving.
The fall tour now begins on Nov. 16 in Maui, Hawaii. The itinerary currently runs through Dec. 13, though Blues Traveler’s spokeswoman said that more dates will be added.
The new batch of shows includes a Dec. 1 benefit for Chicago's La Rabida Children’s Hospital, with Melissa Etheridge and Five for Fighting.
Blues Traveler's jaunt coincides with the release of its album "Bridge (A&M Records/Interscope).
Opening all the shows except for the Hawaii dates and the Chicago benefit will be Michael Franti and Spearhead, who are touring in support of their latest release, "Stay Human" (Six Degrees). According to the record label, the album "is built around an imaginary broadcast from a community radio station covering the impending state execution of a black activist accused of murder." Actor Woody Harrelson makes an appearance on the album.
