Ozzy Osbourne to pose with fans during in-store outing
Ozzy Osbourne plans to launch "Down to Earth," his first solo album in six years, with a short series of in-store appearances, at which the heavy metal icon will pose for pictures with fans. The five-city jaunt begins in Hollywood on Tuesday (10/16), the new album's release date.
Rather than conducting a traditional in-store autograph-signing, "Ozzy's going to take a photo with you and then give you the Polaroid," according to an announcement posted on his official website. "Show those mammaries if you want or bring the whole family--it's an occasion to remember," the announcement continues.
All of the in-store appearances are set to take place from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m., except for the Saturday, Oct. 20, stop in Illinois, which is scheduled from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., according to Ozzy's publicist. Details appear below.
"Down to Earth" (Epic) is Ozzy's first collection of new solo material since 1995's "Ozzmosis." The album features longtime Ozzy guitarist Zakk Wylde, bassist Robert Trujillo (Suicidal Tendencies) and drummer Mike Bordin (Faith No More). The group will kick off an extensive U.S. tour in support of the album on Halloween, and will be joined on the outing by Rob Zombie and Mudvayne.
In addition to the promotional in-store appearances, Ozzy is also hyping "Down to Earth" with a performance on Friday night's (10/12) episode of NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," Monday (10/15) appearances on the syndicated radio programs "Rockline" and "Loveline," Thursday (10/18) appearances on "The Howard Stern Show" and MTV's "Total Request Live," and a Friday (10/19) appearance on VH1's "The Rock Show," according to Epic.
