Queensryche sets up U.S. tour to back live album
Queensryche is gearing up for a November road trip that will support the group’s recently released live album, “Live Evolution.” The 14-date outing is comprised of theater stops in major cities throughout the U.S.
The two-disc “Live Evolution” (Sanctuary) features 30 songs that span the Seattle prog-rockers' 20-year career. The tracks were recorded during the group’s July 27 and 28 performances at Seattle’s Moore Theater, and are divided into four separate suites arranged in chronological order.
A streaming-audio version of “Live Evolution” in its entirety can be heard at the group’s official website.
On Tuesday (10/9), the group will release on DVD and VHS a companion video of the “Live Evolution” concerts.
Queensryche’s most recent studio release is 1999’s “Q2K” (Atlantic). The group followed that up with last year’s “Greatest Hits” (Virgin) compilation.
“Empire” (Capitol), the group’s triple-platinum 1990 release, remains its most commercially successful to date. That album features the hits “Silent Lucidity” and “Jet City Woman.”
