Family Values concert and on-sale dates begin to surface
The first several dates for this fall’s Family Values outing have been set, and tickets are due to hit the box office in the coming days. As previously reported, the traveling rock-festival’s bill will be topped by co-headliners Stone Temple Pilots and Staind , and will also feature Linkin Park , Static-X and Deadsy.
Five dates have been lined up thus far, tickets for four of which are set to go on sale on either Friday (9/7), Saturday (9/8) or Sunday (9/9). Details appear below.
Stone Temple Pilots' upcoming run atop the Family Values roster will mark the group’s first full-fledged U.S. outing behind its fifth album, "Shangri-La Dee Da" (Atlantic), which hit stores in June and debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 album chart. The group, which recently wrapped up a stint on the European festival circuit, has performed only a handful of U.S. dates since the album's release, including a headlining appearance at last month’s Rolling Rock Town Fair in Pennsylvania.
The one-day Rolling Rock festival also featured Staind, which recently completed a three-month summer trek behind its chart-topping sophomore effort, "Break the Cycle" (Flip).
Static-X is currently on the road behind its May release, “Machine” (Warner Bros.). The group is in the midst of a series of headlining U.S. club dates, and will head to Europe later this month to occupy a slot on the Tattoo the Planet tour, a festival outing that will also feature Pantera, Slayer, Biohazard and Cradle of Filth.
Deadsy has been opening on some of Static-X’s recent club dates. “Commencement,” Deadsy’s debut album, is expected to surface this fall on Korn’s Elementree label.
The upcoming Family Values tour is the outing’s third incarnation, and marks the event's return after taking last year off. The tour was headlined by its co-founders Korn in 1998 and by Limp Bizkit in 1999. A tentatively planned 2000 edition was scrapped, apparently due to scheduling conflicts.
