Aerosmith sets up more North American dates, cancels Canadian stop
Aerosmith seems poised to keep its current North American tour rolling on through the end of the year. The legendary rock group has added a round of October dates to its itinerary, and has posted its first November and December stops as well.
Tickets for several of the new dates are due to hit the box office this weekend, according to tour promoter Clear Channel Entertainment. Details appear below.
A spokesperson for the group could not be reached at press time to say whether the band plans to add a full batch of November and December dates; one stop during each of those months has been confirmed thus far.
The tour began in early June.
In addition to posting new dates, the group has also canceled an Oct. 9 stop in Vancouver. Ticket refunds can be obtained at the point of purchase, according to a venue spokesperson. No reason was given for the cancellation, the spokesperson said.
Aerosmith’s outing is ranked as the No. 6 top-grossing tour in the U.S. on Pollstar’s latest Concert Pulse Charts, which lists the group’s per-night average over the course of its past 17 shows at a gross of about $886,000 with sales of about 20,000 tickets per show.
The band's latest album, “Just Push Play” (Columbia), hit stores in March and entered the Billboard 200 album chart at No. 2. The album, which will clock in at No. 191 on the forthcoming chart, has sold a total of just over 1 million copies, according to industry sources.
