Rod Stewart reveals new itinerary and on-sale dates
Rod Stewart , who last month wrapped up the first leg of his tour behind this year’s “Human,” plans to hit the road again in early October for another string of North American dates.
Tickets for a number of Stewart’s newly scheduled shows will hit the box office this weekend, according to organizers. Details appear in the itinerary below.
Stewart has also lined up his first few 2002 tour dates, which will take place in Australia.
Stewart’s current outing was ranked the No. 18 top-grossing tour of the first half of 2001, according to Pollstar; the singer’s first 17 shows--during which he performed before a total of about 131,000 people--grossed $6.3 million.
Released in February, “Human” debuted at No. 50 on the Billboard 200 album chart, dipped to No. 183 by its eighth week in stores, and subsequently dropped off of the chart. The album features the track “I Can’t Deny It,” which peaked at No. 33 on Billboard’s Adult Top 40 chart in early April.
Streaming versions of both the “I Can’t Deny It” music video and a documentary of the making of the video are both available at Stewart’s official website.
"Human" was originally planned for release last November, but was delayed when Stewart was forced to undergo thyroid surgery after doctors detected cancer. The surgery left him unable to sing for several months.
"They literally, you know, cut you right through the throat," Stewart said during a Feb. 7 promotional appearance on ABC's "Good Morning."
"[It] just took a bit of time ... before the voice got back," he continued, "and as you can hear, it's not properly back yet, but it will [be]. Just needs to be re-trained."
