Counting Crows reveal an extended itinerary

Counting Crows , who originally planned a brief summer tour to unveil some works-in-progress, now plan to remain on the road well into November.

The expanded itinerary takes the band to several colleges, including Southwest Texas, Yale and George Washington universities, as well as House of Blues venues and small theaters.

Counting Crows will resume the tour on Aug. 18, when it performs as part of a benefit at the AT&T Broadband World Headquarters.

According to its official website, the band is using the tour as a way to test new material before it hits the studio.

Counting Crows released their latest album, "This Desert Life" (Interscope), in 1999.
