Yolanda Adams headlines Sisters in the Spirit
Award-winning gospel star Yolanda Adams is heading out on the road as part of the Sisters in the Spirit tour with Shirley Caesar and Mary Mary . The extensive tour kicks off on Sept. 20 at the Landmark Theater in Richmond, Va.
Adams earned a Grammy Award for her 1999 Elektra debut, "Mountain High ... Valley Low," which also hit No. 1 on Billboard's Gospel and Contemporary Christian Charts. Her latest album, the 2001 live record "The Experience," features two versions of R. Kelly's song "I Believe I Can Fly," one live and the other a studio duet with Gerald Levert.
Shirley Caesar released her latest album, "You Can Make It" (Myrrh Black Gospel Division), in August 2000.
Mary Mary--sisters Tina and Erica Atkins--scored a club hit with "Shackles (Praise You)" from its 2000 offering "Thankful" (Myrrh). Destiny’s Child makes a guest appearance on "Thankful."
