The Cranberries to pick the audience for promo tour
Irish pop-rockers the Cranberries, who are attempting to build a buzz behind a new album that's due in stores on Oct. 23, have planned a five-city U.S. promotional tour of small venues. Tickets to four of the shows will be available only through the band's official website or radio station contests.
Tickets for the band's Aug. 16 appearance in Boulder, Colo., are on sale now. That show will also feature Ryan Adams and Grant Lee Phillips.
The Cranberries ' forthcoming album is titled "Wake Up and Smell the Coffee" (MCA). The first single, titled "Analyse," is scheduled to hit radio on Aug. 27.
To coincide with the single's release, the band will play private, semi-acoustic concerts in four cities. Fans can win tickets through local radio station giveaways or through the Cranberries' website.
According to MCA Records, fans may obtain tickets by sending an email to crancomp@elive.ie and, in no more than 30 words, telling the band why they would like to attend, and in which city and state they reside. The band will read the letters and choose the letters. More details are available on the Cranberries' website.
