Built to Spill announces U.S. club tour

Boise, Idaho-born Built to Spill [ tickets ] is heading out on an extensive East Coast tour in support of its new record, "Ancient Melodies of the Future."

The group kicks off its jaunt with two-night-stands in Minneapolis and Chicago. Multiple nights are frequent throughout Built to Spill's tour, with back-to-back shows also scheduled in Washington, D.C., Boston, New York and Atlanta.

"Ancient Melodies of the Future" (Warner Bros.) is the band's first studio record since 1999's "Keep It Like a Secret" (Warner Bros.) and its seventh overall. Built to Spill is singer-songwriter-guitarist Doug Martsch, bassist Brett Nelson and drummer Scott Plouf.
