'Dental emergency' sinks Janet Jackson's Milwaukee concert

Janet Jackson canceled her Wednesday night (7/19) performance at Milwaukee’s Bradley Center “due to an unexpected dental emergency,” according to a notice posted on her official website. Organizers are hoping to reschedule the event.

Milwaukee television station WTMJ reported that Jackson chipped a tooth on Wednesday afternoon and had to undergo emergency root-canal surgery. The cancellation was announced just hours before show time, according to the report.

A make-up date has not been scheduled, but is in the works, according to the venue. Ticketholders will be able to use their tickets to Wednesday night’s show for access to the same seats on the make-up date, should one take place. Meanwhile, refunds are available at the point of purchase.

Wednesday night’s cancellation is the second snag Jackson’s tour has run into. The outing’s July 5 kick-off date in Vancouver, British Columbia, was postponed until July 7 because a portion of the singer’s stage didn’t arrive at the venue on time.

Jackson is touring in support of “All for You” (Virgin), which hit stores in April and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart.
