Sugar Ray, Everlast Top Lineup For Hard Rock RockFest
Chart-toppers Sugar Ray and Everlast will join with the Offspring, Third Eye Blind, Silverchair and several other touring modern rock acts in a day-long festival organized by the Hard Rock club chain that will play June 5th at Atlanta's Motor Speedway.
The festival, christened the Hard Rock RockFest, will include sets by Better Than Ezra, Collective Soul, Eve 6, Live, Marvelous 3, the New Radicals and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones. According to a press release distributed by event publicists, the full event will feature extreme sports demonstrations, interactive activities, cultural exhibits, vendors and an on-site Hard Rock Cafe. Organizers hope to draw more than 150,000 people to the event.
The one-off event comes as the fates of travelling festivals including Lollapalooza and the HORDE tour remain in doubt, largely due to problems locking in headliners to build a full package around. Show participant Sugar Ray has been mentioned, along with Bush, as being under consideration to anchor a possible Lollapalooza run in the summer.
Tickets are set for sale on April 9th.
