Janet Jackson postpones tour opener
Janet Jackson has postponed her Thursday (7/5) tour opener in Vancouver, British Columbia, because a key portion of her stage hadn't arrived at GM Place arena as of Wednesday night (7/4), according to a press release from the tour's promoters.
Promoters blame the delayed shipments on the Independence Day and Canada Day holidays. The tour is now scheduled to open on Saturday (7/7) in Portland, Ore., and the Vancouver show will take place on July 9.
According to tour publicists, Jackson's stage set was designed by Mark Fisher, who has designed sets for U2 and the Rolling Stones, and the tour's operation requires sixteen trucks and 110 people.
