The Crystal Method plans a 'Tweekend' tour
The release of "Tweekend," the sophomore album from electronic music duo the Crystal Method, will be accompanied by a lengthy tour focusing on the North American club circuit.
The two-month tour opens on July 27 in Petaluma, Calif. The itinerary includes two appearances--in East Troy, Wis., and St. Louis--on the North American Electronic Music tour, a tour that has been assembled by Toronto-based electronic music promoter Mekka.
"Tweekend" (Interscope/Outpost) will be in stores on July 31, and comes four years after the Crystal Method's debut, "Vegas." Scott Kirkland and Ken Jordan spent two years on the road behind "Vegas," and spent much of the rest of their time at the Bomb Shelter, a studio they built in a Glendale, Calif., garage, at work on the new album, according to the band's label biography.
"We were just constantly tweaking the songs and mixes," Jordan said. "We were almost thinking it was going to take another five years to get it done."
The first video from "Tweekend," titled "Name of the Game," debuted on the MTV2 cable network this week.
A "filmmaker fan," Benno Nelson, will follow the band during the tour to film a documentary, according to the Crystal Method's official website. Nelson won the opportunity to film the band after winning a contest sponsored by the Internet film guide iFilm.com.
