Joe Strummer heads to North America for in-stores, concerts
Former Clash frontman Joe Strummer and his band the Mescaleros will launch their forthcoming release “Global A Go-Go” with a series of U.S. in-store appearances. A North American tour will follow in October.
Strummer and the Mescaleros’ week-long promotional outing kicks off on July 24 in New York City--the same day that “Global A Go-Go” (Hellcat/Epitaph) arrives in stores---and wraps up in Los Angeles on Aug. 1. While in L.A., the group will open for the Brian Setzer Orchestra at the Greek Theatre on Aug. 4, according to a press release from Strummer’s publicist.
“Global A Go-Go” is the follow-up to 1999’s "Rock Art and the X-Ray Style,” which was Strummer’s first solo release since 1989’s “Earthquake Weather.”
