Sheryl Crow To Launch First Round Of 1999 US Tour Dates

Sheryl Crow will launch her 1999 US tour activity with a two-month stretch of theatre shows in the southeast and midwest between clusters of UK tour dates. Crow has just launched a two-week European tour, which began February 2nd in Stockholm and will end with a pair of London shows on the 17th and 18th, allowing Crow time to attend the Grammy Awards ceremony, where she's nominated for six awards.

The US tour launches March 13th in Nevada, where Crow will be one of the feature acts opening the new House of Blues venue in Las Vegas. The tour wraps in Tennessee on May 9th, after which Crow will return to England to open four stadium shows on the Rolling Stones' European tour.

Crow will also perform at the February 24th Grammy ceremony, where she's nominated for Album of the Year, Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, Best Female Rock Vocal Performance, Best Rock Album, Best Song written for Motion Picture and Producer of the Year, non-classical.

The source of most of the nominations, Crow's Globe Sessions, drops to the #72 slot on this week's Billboard pop album chart in its 17th week of release.

In late January, Crow made a surprise appearance onstage during the Slamdance Festival set of pop act Gordon, who welcomed Crow and former Police drummer Stewart Copeland to take part in a spontaneous jam on Crow's My Favorite Mistake.
